hate it when my dragon's morning breath crystal triggers a war between an innocent cult of swingers and the gods of ancient timesWell, that was a waste of time and money. If I wanted religion, I would have gone to church. Getting a refund. Left a bad taste.
This book was recommended to me based off of my other books I have read & I think it was a bad recommendation. The book is about 2 brother Gods that create their children that worship them. I'm not really into religion as a story all by itself. I prefer it as part of a culture. I thought this book was a sneaky attempt to convert me to Christianity but I could be wrong. It could be just a story. The characters were all extreme and by that I mean that all the personalities seemed over the top.

Bit of a slog really. Last hundred pages of the book only bit worth reading. Only reason i gave it three stars. Most of the characters were nothing more than caricatures really. Actually glad that most of them were killed off by the end of the book. Haven't read anything else by these authors so I didn't know that this is a pre-established world. However that being said, I'm content to never read anything else about this world and I hopefully wish that the forces of Velixar and Karak wipe out
The last 40% of Dawn of Swords is worth the price of admission (more on that in a moment). The first 60% was a struggle and since this is a 20 hour book, a long struggle. The book includes a cast of thousands (just joking, hundreds) and each are introduced in enough detail that I could pick them out of a police lineup. I kept wishing the authors would say, This person is ugly and an idiot, so lets move on, but I had to listen to a chapter or two or three to figure it out on my own.I did end up
Man, I'm really torn about this book. It's got some intriguing ideas that more or less begin to pay off (it's very obviously the first book in a series), a few genuine surprises and characters that you come to like a lot. There's a decent amount of world-building, and the world shows a lot of potential. That said, it suffers from TERRIBLE fantasy naming (a city called Safeway? A demon called Sluggoth? Give me a break), the writing is sometimes ham-fisted and clumsy, the authors develop a mean
