Catherine Anderson has a way of spinning a take and making you fall in love with her characters. Cherish, however takes it to the highest level. Race Spencer is every woman's dream man. Rebecca is so sweet innocent and the perfect partner for this Apache gunslinger. 5 stars all the way. A must read and bookshelf keeper. This is my 2nd time to read this classic tale.

I like sweet historical romances but this one seemed too hokey even for this sometimes hokey-loving reader. I have enjoyed old time cowboy romances by Norah Hess and Lynda Chance, to name a couple. In Cherish, the characters, sweet, virginal heroine and gruff cowboy with a heart of gold, were cardboard cutouts with whom I could not make an emotional connection. The excruciatingly slow pace of the book did not help my efforts and I finally gave up when once again, the main characters' lives were

I had enough of regency romances and decided to go and get me some cowboy love instead.This is the layout: a god-fearing Quaker woman, a handsome, quarter Apache gun-slinging cowboy, some bad guys, a dog, and a pile of money. Rebecca (the Quaker) goes through some interesting shifts in her outlook on life. She starts off trusting God to save her and protect her, then, when that obviously doesn't happen and her whole family gets raped and murdered, she transfers her affections onto her cowboy,



Is there a lot of brutal violence in Cherish? Yes. Is there a lot of graphic descriptions of rape and murder? Yes. Is the heroine Rebecca a bible thumping, cheek turning, terrified, clinging young lady? Yes. Is the hero Race, an uneducated half breed? Yes. Is this a good story? YES. Our hero Race Spencer comes across our heroine Rebecca Anne amid a sea of dead bodies. It's a pretty gory scene but when Race first sees Rebecca he thinks she's an angel. Immediately drawn to her, he's ready to die

Rebecca Morgan and her family are devoted Christians, she has always been shelter from all things bad in life, but when her family is slaughter by thieves whom are after her family and the churchs money, Rebecca finds a guardian angel in the form of ex-gunslinger now cattle rancher Race Spencer who will protect her with his very life and restore her faith in God with his love.. Catherine Anderson has this ability with her writing to hit a cord deep in your soul and heart to feel for her

I loved this book!!! This is a true page turner and at the end I cried.
