Critique Based On Books Tuscan Rose
After reading a few pages I knew this book was going to be good but when I got to the part where Rosa saw salami slices turning into sows, vomited up live live anchovies, squids and chickens I started to worry. Thankfully, Rosa's "gifts" were played down in the rest of the novel and it continued to be an exciting, page turning book.

Belinda Alexander takes a fascinating, challenging time and place in history, mixes in compelling characters, adds a little supernatural for good measure, and then produces an unforgettable, empathetic experience for her readers.Tuscan Rose is set in Italy during the tumultuous times of Mussolini. The story of Rosa's life (until about middle age) is an intriguing tale - one that captures your imagination - and your heart!

I WON'T spoil it for you!Just as expected, the novel is a wonderful creation of the devastating time the Italians spent during the time Mussolini ruled. I got very attached to all the characters, good and evil. The flow is smooth and rich and filled with all emotions, suspense, mystery, love, heartbreak, loss, darkness, as well as hope and new beginnings.I will definitely search and learn more about Mussolini and his ruling as well as the tragic events based on reality mentioned in the novel.

This novel had a subtitle Passion, longing, secrets, and a dangerous time and is set in wartime Italy so it sounded just like my kind of book. Yet, despite its readability, I have to admit I was disappointed. Im not sure exactly why. I shouldve loved sensitive Rosa, and I really adore romantic books set in wartime Italy ... yet ... I think it was too long, or the writing was simply too pedestrian, or because I never got to really like either of the two men Rosa falls in love with ... too much

I enjoyed this; it was obviously well-researched.Made me cry a couple of tears, it was a long story as well (which I always like).

What a beautiful, delightful read. Don't be intimidated by the size of this book, it is well worth the effort!

I couldn't put it down! Thank you for inspiring me to read again after a long break due to health reasosns. I haven't stopped since. Loved all your books!
