I remember reading this a couple years ago, as it was an old book my sister had owned from the 90s and left behind. There's not very much to say about it, other than I was surprised that I kind of enjoyed it, seeing as how you already know what's going to happen going into it. I was surprised I actually still felt sad when Gabriel died (which is NOT a spoiler, they already say it's going to happen on the back cover), so it must've done something right for that to happen. I'd expected to be more bored with it. I guess maybe the characters had just been likeable enough. And I can't remember who the other boy was that the main character met, but at first I was pretty annoyed by him. I don't remember whether he got better or not at the end, so I'll have to somehow find a copy of this book and reread it sometime...

Starts some silly, I dislike how the story starts. But it becomes better when Jean works at Lavender House and enjoys doing that. My favorite character is Gabriel, he makes the history, I wanted more fromm him, more thoughts, more moments with Jean what shows his love for her. Beauty end, and lovely message.



Read this in junior high and was so touched. It made appreciate life so much and realize we should never take the things we have in life for granted.

I absolutely loved this book!! It had good romance, a good plot, it was funny, and it made me bawl at the end. I wanted to read it over and over again!
