I knew what this book was (little more than a 7th Day Adventist tract) when I started reading it. The forced dialog as to the main character's amazing revelation that Saturday is the Sabbath is almost painful. I guess the author aspires to be a playwright but I doubt this book will make it to the stage. The story was actually okay through the first half of the book, then it takes off trying to justify ALL of the 7th Day Adventist beliefs. That's where I lost interest, and it became little more than propaganda. However, I suffered through to the bitter end in order to write this review. The best quote in the book comes from the respected Methodist theologian, John Wesley and think the author missed his point. It's just too obvious that the author wants to indoctrinate the reader into her dogmatic beliefs. Although there are some parts of the 7th Day Adventist doctrine that I can say make sense, their staunch belief that Sunday worship is the mark of the beast simply belittles what Christ did for everyone (GENTILE AND JEW) on the cross. I'd think with all the chaos in the Middle-East, it is the FRIDAY worshipers who they should fear will be those who persecute both SATURDAY AND SUNDAY worshipers with their freedom-crushing Sharia Law. Christ nailed the Old Testament Law to the cross. It's not Sunday or Saturday worship that will separate the faithful from the faithless. It's whether or not you can truly love your brother. For Americans it may be impossible to love those who hate us so, so much. After reading this I have a new found faith in the wisdom of our Founders and the freedom of religion. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blindfolded fear.
