I love this book because the writer puts the main character in a very interesting problem. The main character wants to impress a boy while she is trying to make herself in a group. However, you need to be smart to get in this group. So basically she either chooses the boy or the group and she is in a fight with her best friends. Her sister told her just to be cool while her parents said she should go in the group. If I was in her place I would just do both, why not? At the end she does do both.We zipped through this in about three sittings and even though it wasn't received with a ton of enthusiasm, the littlest seemed to enjoy it enough to let me do several chapters at a time.I liked that Alexis stayed true to herself and still managed to realize she had a few personality quirks she needed to work on.I think my daughter has her eye on another one in the series so we might pick it up later on as well.
I can see why these books are popular with girls. Cupcakes, boys and plenty of drama.

Coco Simon always dreamed of opening a cupcake bakery, but shes afraid she would eat all the profits. When shes not daydreaming about cupcakes, Coco edits childrens books and has written close to 100 books for children, tweens, and young adults, which is a lot less than the number of cupcakes shes eaten. Cupcake Diaries is the first time Coco has mixed her love of cupcakes with writing.
