I have been looking forward to getting this story out to you! I can't wait until it hits shelves in September. If you find you don't have a lot of time for reading with school just starting up again, do not fear! This first book in the series is not overly long: 198 pages and around 60,000 words. I ended it where I felt it made the most sense to do so, but I already know the next books in the series will be longer. I don't want to give too much away, but I have them planned that way for a
I am very excited to get this Second Edition of The Guardians of Eastgate out to you! This new, expanded version has over 12,000 more words than the first edition, with extended scenes and dialogue. It includes further insights into the protagonist and her rag-tag group of friends, out to save the realm.Join Maelona, a seer champion, and her companions, Blaez, a wolf shifter, and Gareth, a human prince on their journey to Eastgate. Their goals: protect the keystone, bring the different peoples1.5/5 (maybe)This had so much potential to be amazing, but it felt like an outline for a novel, rather than a finished product. It's such a good idea for a book, but it fell flat. The dialogue felt stiff and formal, the characters had no substance to them, and the world-building was pretty much non-existent. That being said, I will definitely read the next books to see how the writing improves and how the story pans out.

If you're a fan of fantasy fiction, I highly recommend The Guardians of Eastgate by Sherry Leclerc. It has a host of weird and wonderful creatures, beautiful mythical landscapes, and a twisting and exciting plot that is engrossing right up to the last page. Maelona is a champion of the Seer race of Sterrenvar, who watch over the keystones that protect their world. Maelona is the first line of defence when a dark sorcerer rises up to enslaves her home. She can't do this alone, but with prejudice
I received an electronic copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. I read the book and had to email her, because I thought she accidentally sent an unedited draft.Almost every chapter is shorter than the majority of novels I have read. They are from about 500 words/2 pages to about 4,500 words/8 pages. The whole book reads like an outline for what is happening or what did happen. The premise of "the evil threat to the realm" is incredibly under-developed. Maelona, the
Amazing book love the wide expanse of charaters.
This was a nice introduction to a series while also being a contained story. There was good world-building and enough history of this world sprinkled in throughout to make it all come alive rather well. The main character, Maelona, very much comes across as a woman completely able to handle things on her own: she's smart, she's wise, and she can kick your butt multiple times before you even have a chance to realize what's happening. The fight scenes are well-laid out and the romantic elements,
