Commentary To Books Les Vacances du Petit Nicolas (Le Petit Nicolas #3)

Crit Appertaining To Books Les Vacances du Petit Nicolas (Le Petit Nicolas #3)
These French-language stories of small Nicholas accompanying his parents on various vacations, then enjoying a stint at a summer camp on the Normandy coast are perfect readings for intermediate students in French. Nicholas has been compared to his American comic strip counterpart, Calvin from Calvin and Hobbs, but actually Nicholas is much sweeter and more endearing. True, Nicholas is always in some kind of trouble and driving his parents crazy (usually Papa), but he is never deliberately

an inspiration.

This book was hysterically funny to my children but it was full of really bad behavior and relationships so it's not one I would recommend. We had to do a lot of talking as we read it. Of course now my children want to read the rest of the series!

* I read the English translation.I was pretty excited to read about le petit Nicolas, whose stories I first encountered in a museum bookshop several years ago. This book is one of a series, and while the first few stories in this volume were pretty funny and entertaining, ultimately, the author relies on a similar narrative structure - one in which Nicolas and his mischievous pals begin on some adventure, then end up bickering and punching each other, till some adult grows exasperated with them.

Situation where boys just yell so much that everyone is desperate, I find not humorous at all. I like Nicolas' stories, all the searching for reasons to fight among boys are fun, but in this book I miss the part about everyone being happy in the end. That's the first part about family vacation. The second part about summercamp is better, but I almost didn't meet it.Situace, kdy kluci prostě křičí tak, že jsou z toho všichni kolem zoufalí, mi prostě nepřijdou vtipné. Mikulášovy příběhy mám ráda,

Not as good as the first few, at all. I still enjoyed it but how long can one read the same styled text? This is the same writing with new funny stories but it, at some places, bored me.But don't get me wrong! IT'S STILL A GREAT BOOK

Honestly, I can't remember which Nicolas book I read for French II class, and it wasn't the whole thing either. (So, I won't really be able to finish that one!) But the drawings remained in my mind well enough that I recognized them when Julie showed me one of the English translation copies.
