Well, this was certainly a pretty decent Star Wars adventure. Thats what I love about the series It usually more often than not really lives up to its status of some of the finest storytelling in the Star Wars universe. I guess thats why I keep coming back to the series so much. Even though the series is about 20 something years old, its still so good that I keep coming back for more. You cant get more timeless than that. The story is on a more simplistic note, but its also perhaps paradoxicallyThis seemed more like a filler story, and also somewhat weaker than previous storylines. I really thought it would go in a different direction, so at least they fooled me?
Still way too much angsty Qui-Gon, but at least the plot was interesting, and they seem to have wrapped up the manpain arc. Hopefully. It was about four books too long anyway. I liked the main character a lot, but they killed off too many secondary female characters. All in all, this series is loosing a lot of its tropey fun vibe. Only two more to go.
Star Wars Legends Project #57 Background: The Only Witness came out in February 2002. It was written by Jude Watson. The Only Witness begins some months after The Call to Vengeance (my review), 40 years before the Battle of Yavin and 8 years before The Phantom Menace. This book also features the first-ever appearance of Jedi Librarian Jocasta Nu, just a few months ahead of the release of
